CIS120 Imager Control System

The XCAM CIS120 Imager Control System (ICS) is an imager test and characterisation system which enables ‘plug and play’ operation of the Teledyne e2v ‘Capella’ CIS120 sensor with a noise performance of 3 e- rms achieved in use.  It offers the ability to test CIS120 devices in-air or inside a vacuum system, and provides good flexibility and a wide range of test conditions.

TEST AND CHARACTERISATION

Using our library of standard parts and subassemblies, a test and characterisation system can be put together. Often the only part which may need to be designed from scratch is a new interface headboard, if the detector is a new design. See our range of headboards for use with the XCU-A system, which provides a low-cost system comprising just a headboard, cable and controller which is suitable for your own integration into your vacuum chamber. Alternatively, we can design mounting parts to build into your test system, such as this one which we designed for ESA testing of the Euclid CCD.

We can supply parts built into a dewar enabling cryogenic cooling. We have provided detectors with fibre optic studs bonded, enabling the user to experiment with various scintillator types.
